Renters must have a Pleasure Craft Operator License or a higher certification (e.g., SVOP or any master’s ticket).
The boat rental is strictly for recreational purposes only and is designed to accommodate a total body weight of up to 4 adult passengers, including but not limited to the following activities:
- Fishing: For a day of fishing on the water, whether for sport or leisure.
- Sightseeing and Scenic Cruises: To explore coastal landscapes and marine wildlife from the water, and to access nearby islands and remote coastal regions.
- Leisure Boating: For casual cruising, relaxation, and enjoyment of the peaceful surroundings.
- Picnics on the Water: To anchor the boat in a secluded area for a private picnic with family or friends, with no open fire permitted.
- Photography or Birdwatching: To engage in wildlife photography or birdwatching in natural environments.
Rentals are available from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Security Deposit: A $500 security deposit is required at check-in and may be used to cover any additional costs. Any unused portion will be refunded after an inspection, which may take up to 30 days. The Renter is responsible for repair costs beyond the deposit if any damages are found.
Late Return Fees: Late returns will incur a fee of $30 for the first 30 minutes, followed by $50 per hour, with a maximum charge of $400 per day.
During the rental period, we provide the following essentials to ensure your safety and comfort while operating the boat:
- Life jackets are provided for all passengers, along with fire extinguishers, first aid kits, marine boat essentials kits and crab trap (available upon request with a valid fishing licence presented to staff)
- Fuel is included, covering up to 5 gallons for the rental period.
- Paddles are provided.
- A radio is available for contacting our marina in case of emergency or requests.
FAQ
A Pleasure Craft Operator License (PCOC) or higher certification (e.g., SVOP or any master’s ticket) is required.
Cancellations or changes made less than 2 days before the rental will forfeit the full amount. However, if severe weather makes boating unsafe, Silva Bay Resort and Marina will cancel the appointment and offer a full refund.
The boat can accommodate up to 4 adult passengers.
Life jackets are mandatory and must be worn at all times while the boat is in operation.
Only the person who signed up and is authorized by Silva Bay Marina can operate the boat, even if they have experience.
Silva Bay Resort and Marina does not provide insurance coverage. Renters are advised to obtain their own insurance.
